Born and raised in Delhi, India, Laila comes from a Kashmiri Muslim family that values both tradition and education. She completed her schooling at the renowned Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram, where her curiosity and drive first began to take shape.
Eager to explore new horizons, Laila moved to London for higher studies and earned a B.Sc. in Psychology from King’s College London. This academic foundation gave her a unique perspective on human behavior, which she later found invaluable in the creative world.
Passionate about fashion and its power to express identity, Laila further honed her skills by taking specialized short courses in design, styling, and fashion marketing at the University of the Arts London. Laila co-founded Laila Roohi Faisal (LRF) Designs, a luxury clothing and lifestyle brand she runs with her mother, Roohi Faisal. The brand is known for its timeless silhouettes, buttery-soft fabrics, and Kashmiri silk creations that celebrate India’s rich textile legacy. Their early collections even featured oversized Kashmiri pherans with intricate golden and silver tilla work.
