From Engineering Classrooms to Dior’s Paris Runway: How Yug Sanjay Devalia Made History at Dior Men’s Spring/Summer 2027

For most college students, summer break means internships, vacations, or catching up on sleep. For Yug Sanjay Devalia, it became the season that changed his life forever.

The 19-year-old mechanical engineering student from Mumbai has officially etched his name into fashion history by making his international runway debut at the Dior Menswear Spring/Summer 2027 show in Paris. In doing so, Yug joins an incredibly exclusive group of Indian male models to ever walk for the legendary French luxury house—a milestone that signals the growing global presence of Indian talent on luxury runways.

A Dream That Started Far From Fashion Capitals

Yug’s story is refreshingly unconventional.

Currently studying Mechanical Engineering at Dwarkadas J. Sanghvi College of Engineering, he is preparing to enter his third year after returning from Paris. But long before fashion found him, creativity had always been part of his identity.

“I’ve always been more artistic than academic,” Yug shared in an interview with The Nod Mag. “Even in school I was always sketching and drawing. I’d look at catalogue photos on Amazon or Flipkart and wonder what it would be like to become one of those faces.”

That childhood curiosity would eventually become reality.

The Portfolio That Changed Everything

Unlike many fashion success stories that involve years of scouting and castings, Yug’s breakthrough happened almost overnight.

Thanks to a cousin connected to 28Models founder Showin Bishop, Yug’s portfolio reached the right hands just as the agency was scouting fresh talent in Mumbai.

Only two weeks later, he found himself walking for Dior in Paris.

Sometimes, preparation meets opportunity in the most unexpected ways.

Inside His First Dior Runway Experience

Fashion week glamour often hides the discipline behind the scenes.

For Yug, show day began at 3:30 AM, hours before his 5:00 AM call time. Swapping his usual Gujarati-style milky tea for coffee, he stepped into a world that demanded precision, patience, and professionalism.

Dressed in a checked cropped jacket layered over a matching shirt with sharply tailored trousers, Yug admitted he was initially nervous. But the anxiety disappeared the moment he stepped onto the runway.

What surprised him most wasn’t the spotlight—it was witnessing the extraordinary teamwork behind one of fashion’s biggest productions.

The experience completely reshaped his perception of the industry, revealing that every flawless runway presentation is built upon countless hours of collaboration between designers, stylists, casting directors, makeup artists, production teams, and models.

A Family’s Faith Pays Off

Back home in Borivali, Yug’s parents, sister, and grandmother watched his Paris debut with overwhelming pride.

Initially, like many families, they had concerns about the uncertainties of the modelling industry. Yet they chose to trust Yug’s ambitions.

That trust has now transformed into celebration.

Watching their son represent India on one of fashion’s most prestigious runways has become a defining family moment—one that proves unconventional dreams can be worth pursuing.

More Than a Holiday in Paris

When he isn’t attending fashion commitments, Yug has been soaking in the quieter side of Paris.

Evenings near the Eiffel Tower, spending time with fellow Indian models, and enjoying the city’s peaceful atmosphere have become cherished memories during his stay.

But despite the whirlwind success, his priorities remain grounded.

After returning to India, he’ll resume engineering classes before eventually pursuing modelling full-time after graduation.

It’s a rare balance between education and ambition—one that reflects remarkable maturity for someone only beginning his fashion journey.

A New Chapter for Indian Male Models

Yug Sanjay Devalia’s Dior debut isn’t simply a personal milestone—it represents a broader shift in global luxury fashion.

As luxury houses increasingly embrace diverse talent, Indian models are gaining long-overdue recognition on the world’s biggest runways. Yug’s achievement serves as inspiration for aspiring creatives across the country, proving that talent can emerge from places far removed from traditional fashion circles.

From lecture halls in Mumbai to one of Paris Fashion Week’s most anticipated shows, Yug’s story is a reminder that the next global fashion star could be sitting in a college classroom today.

And judging by his remarkable debut, this is only the beginning.
